About Our District Communications evolve for efficiency June 2, 2008 Good communication between schools and parents remains an essential part of a successful educational experience. While I don’t expect our traditional newsletters and backpack mail will disappear anytime soon, our district’s communication efforts are evolving to better serve our communities. This year, you likely noticed that we added a few new methods of communication to our offerings. · Mounds View Messaging has allowed schools to deliver announcements and reminders through voice mail messages to families’ phones. One message can be delivered to thousands of phones in just minutes. · Online, our Chalkboard Chats have allowed parents and residents to participate in digital discussions from the comforts of their keyboards. Our chatrooms have attracted several hundred visitors reading the comments of several dozen posters. As this school year comes to close, we’d like to invite our parents to take on online survey evaluating these two additional forms of communication. To participate, please click here or visit our homepage at www.moundsviewschools.org. The survey will be active until noon on Friday, June 6. I’m certain that today’s emerging and nontraditional communications will quickly become tomorrow’s traditional and expected methods for communicating. As the future unfolds, please let us know how we can continue to share news and information with you in a timely and efficient manner. | ||
