EDUCATIONAL EVENTS

 Partners in Policymaking®.

This 9-month program teaches leadership skills and the process for developing positive partnerships with elected and other officials who make policy decisions about services that affect persons with developmental disabilities and their families.  Created in 1987, the program is administered by the Minnesota Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities, and is funded in part by a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration on Developmental Disabilities.  There is no cost to accepted class members PLUS there is also financial support available for respite/childcare and travel expenses if needed.

Applications are now being accepted for Class 26 and we request your help in sharing the enclosed flyer with those whom you believe would benefit by participation.  Note that the deadline for application is July 25, 2008.  Application can be made by completing a form and mailing/faxing it in or by completing an on-line form.  Both options are available via the Government Training Services (GTS) website: www.mngts.org (then just click-on the Partners in Policymaking logo).
