New principal named for Valentine Hills

May 31, 2007 -- Nathan Flansburg has been selected as the new principal for Valentine Hills, effective July 1. He will succeed principal David Beaty, who is retiring at the end of this school year.

Flansburg joined Mounds View Public Schools 10 years ago and has served as a teacher at Chippewa Middle School, Island Lake Elementary School and Snail Lake Elementary School. For three years, he served as summer school program coordinator, and most recently he has taken a leadership role at Turtle Lake Elementary School as the student services assistant.

The search for a new principal involved committees of parents, staff members and Building Instructional Leadership Team members.
