Pine Tree Apple Orchard APPLES served for School Lunch! We are proud to utilize the local Minnesota Farm 2 School program which promotes food items from local farmers in the school lunch program.
On November 10th and November 17th we will be serving apples grown at Pine Tree Apple Orchard in White Bear Lake. Pine Tree Apple Orchard is committed to growing and providing the highest quality fruit in a sustainable environment. They are Food Alliance Midwest Certified and part of the Minnesota Grown Program.
Here are some practical information tidbits that Pine Tree Apple Orchard has found over the years:
Three medium sized apples equals one pound. One pound peeled and sliced apples equals two and 3/4 cups. One peck of apples equals 10-12 pounds or 35-40 medium sized apples. One bushel of apples can weigh from 42 to 48 pounds. One bushel of apples will make 15-20 quarts of applesauce. Half a peck yields five pints of applesauce. Two pounds equals three cups of sauce. Each apple variety varies in weight.
