District German students score among best in the country
March 9, 2009 -- District students were among an estimated 26,000 students nation-wide to participate in the National Standardized German Exam sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of German. Irondale and Mounds View High School students who scored in the 80th percentile or above totaled 21 students this year with six of these students scoring high enough to go on to compete for an all-expenses paid trip to Germany. Students who scored in the 80th percentile or above on the National German Exam include: Irondale High School Brent Connolly, German II Erik Johnson, German III Allison Kraft, German III Brooke Hayashida, German III Jackie Hill, German IV Ian Nederhiser, German II Rosina Pletscher, German II Molly Seberg, German III Brandon Strub, German III Wes Tish, German III Brian Walters, German IV Mounds View High School Kristine Bornus, German III Alex Breyfogle, German II Lindsay Nevalainen, German III Jeffrey Barcus, German III Andrew Carlson, German III Briana Johnson, German II Ian Liu, German IV Elizabeth Newton, German IV Calli Oliverius, German II Erika Senyk, German II Students scoring in the 90th percentile or above went on to compete for an all-expenses paid trip to Germany. Irondale students who scored in the 90th percentile or above include: Brent Connolly, Erik Johnson and Allison Kraft. Mounds View students who scored in the 90th percentile include: Kristine Bornus, Alex Breyfogle and Lindsay Nevalainen. |
