Mounds View student named in Presidential Scholars competition

April 27, 2009 -- Mounds View High School senior, Divya K. Gupta, was selected as one of 12 semifinalists state-wide and one of approximately 560 semifinalists nation-wide to advance to the final round of the Presidential Scholars competition. Divya was selected from a pool of nearly 2.8 million graduating seniors from across the country for the award which is known as one of the nation’s highest honors for graduating seniors. Every year, up to 141 students are named as Presidential Scholars to represent excellence in education and the promise of greatness in young people. Candidates are identified for the academic component of the program based on College Board SAT or ACT Assessment scores.
