Chippewa student's essay gets published
 May 26, 2009 -- Chippewa Middle School student Ouyang Xu earned first place in the League of Minnesota Human Rights Commissions state essay contest and was awarded $500 at an awards luncheon on May 16. Essay writers who were considered for this honor submitted entries about a current event in which they believed a human rights violation occurred. Excerpts from Xu's entry are published in the "Quotable Quotes" booklet, which is provided to local schools and human right commissions throughout Minnesota. |
