Art Educator of the Year

September 15, 2009 -- Mark Trampf, Valentine Hills Elementary art teacher, was recently named Minnesota Art Educator of the Year and Elementary Art Educator of the Year by Art Educators of Minnesota (AEM). He will be honored at the AEM Fall Conference in November. These awards recognize art educators who have demonstrated outstanding teaching and leadership, and who have made significant contributions in art education to their school, district, and state. Mark has served as AEM president and AEM conference organizer and he recently served as the Local Host Site Chair for the National Art Education Association convention held in Minneapolis in 2009. He has worked with The Perpich Center for Arts Education and he was one of five art educators selected to be on the Arts Standards Revision Committee for the Minnesota Department of Education. Mark has been a Mounds View Public Schools teacher for 26 years.
